AB Installs was first established in 2015 by Alfie Beaney who trained as a copper jointer on the openreach contract. This shortly led onto fibre cabling works. Alfie trained guys to work along side him on these fibre works and realised that civils avoidance using hi pressure de-silting equipment could help his cabling success rate. This also led onto providing their own traffic management controls. AB Installs had evolved into a all in one civils avoidance, overhead and underground cabling, desilting and traffic management outfit that contractors could trust. This new approach to multi skilled cabling had opened many doors inside the telecoms industry and AB Installs found they were in high demand.

In 2018 AB Installs become a tier 2 telecomms supplier and their services had expanded right across Essex, Suffolk, Cambridge, Bedfordshire, Buckfordshire, Hertfordshire and Kent. In 2019 AB installs made a large investment into their civils sector. This meant that they could now offer full turnkey solution. This gave them full control over their delivery. Managing a project from survey stage, test rod and rope, cabling, desilting, traffic management, civils, splicing, testing and quality checking before handing it back to their clients. Today the company is working as a tier 1 principle contractor and still holds tier 2 openreach contracts all across the south east.
